While all your baby birds are learning about nature at home for now, we want to continue to support their learning and provide you with some new activities for you to do together at home.
Nest Friends is a fun educational website that supports and develops our eco school efforts to protect and care for the birds around us at home and in nursery. Every British bird has been transformed into a bright bold character, to simplify their marking, and make identifying them much easy for preschool children.
You can also use the website to learn about the birds, what they eat, where they live and what time of year they are likely to be seen. Use the websites free resources to identify the birds and then record their visits to your garden. This might be something you could use for your birdwatch.
There are also plenty of free resources to download and print including craft making kits and colouring activities. If you don’t have a printer, don’t worry, you can always use their ideas to draw and make your own nest friend.
Have fun bird watchers.
