Our Eco School

Our Eco School

After visiting an Eco School conference, many moons ago, Mrs McMullan and Mrs McGall made a very important contact, Barry Tapster from Mid and East Antrim council. Barry kindly agreed that when he had a slot, he would come and visit our nursery and help with a new Eco School project…

Well, our turn to work with Barry has finally come around and we are all going to work together to build our own recycled, Eco School green house.

Over the next school year Barry will send home jobs for the parents, tasks for the staff and activities for the pupils in nursery so we can all work together to build a greenhouse.

Work started today when came to Barry nursery to explain to how we were going to collect clean, empty plastic bottles which can be sorted, cut and then joined together using reclaimed wood to build a greenhouse. The pupils were very engaged and listened carefully as Barry explained the important work they would have to do. They all then took their special bottles home to help their parents with their homework.

Keep a eye out for updates of how our work is progressing!
