E-Safety

We have a strict ICT policy at nursery which the children, parents, staff and volunteers all must adhere too. Mrs McMullan, our ICT coordinator has also recently been involved in the e-safety consultation of Safe Guarding NI to ensure the continued protection of our children. More information on this can be found at www.safeguardingni.org/esafetyconsultation for anyone who would like to read the proposed statements and give their input as a parent.

As parents ourselves, the staff at Ballymena Nursery School are aware of the every day problems of online devices, not least the constant hum of “Can I have your phone… Can I have your phone… Can I have your tablet… Can I have your phone…”

Enforcing rules at home is much harder to do than it is for us in class, but there are lots of websites available which provide advice for parents. There are also some to share with your children, that talk about e-safety, internet rules and good choices about games and activities.
